The flat iron hair straightener has revolutionized the hair fashion world in the last decade. With a wide variety of straighteners to choose from, you can have the latest hair styles at your fingertips. They have become so popular; it is now possible to get cordless straighteners and even mini ones for travel.
One of the first attempts to straighten hair was to literally “press” your hair. Dangerous of course, but also extremely damaging causing split ends and dry hair.
Things did improve a little when I discovered the world of curlers, crimpers and the like. However, it wasn’t until a good few years later when the flat iron hair straightener came into my life that things got a whole lot easier, (and cheaper), for me to look after my frizzy locks.
For me, there is nothing better than a stunning pair of ceramics to run through my hair. However, I do have an old pair of some metal plated design, which still does an excellent job, that I keep in my trunk – just in case… Well, you never know, do you girls!?
What is excellent with the any of the flat iron hair straighteners out there; is their ability to cope with any style. One day I have curls, (if I want to be particularly girly), another day I will go for the super-bitch dead straight ribbons. They got me a pay rise once!
Whichever look you go for, the flat iron hair straightener will soon be your best fashion friend; being so easy to use in the comfort of your own home, and without having to pay a professional to style your hair for a night out or big day.
A first attempt can be a little disappointing, but after getting into a routine and trying out different ways, you will soon find the right method for your hair; thicker hair will need to be separated into small sections to get a lush finish for example.
What is also important to remember, (particularly when using the straightener for the first time), is to not press the hair for too long. This will not straighten the hair any more effectively, and will cause damage over time. Even when used properly however, it is highly recommended that you use a heat defense product for added protection.
I’d be lost without my flat iron hair straightener; having to have the same style every day, and not get glammed up whenever I feel like it. So, if you haven’t joined the party yet; get out there girlfriend. What are you waiting for!?
