Due to the potential consequences, doing nothing and hoping for the best is not an option. Most women simply use their spare hand to push their ear out of the way when the curling tongs are near it, but burns still occur when trying to do this; not only to the ear itself, but also to the hand that has been placed in the danger area. Some have tried wrapping their ears with cloth or tissue which, whilst somewhat helping, is uncomfortable and a lot of effort.
This issue of the heat from curling tongs damaging womens’ ears, and the sensitive areas around the ears, is not something that has gone un-noticed by hair and beauty product manufacturers; indeed, a number of products have been released in the past as a response to it. Various wearable shields, guards and expandable combs have been invented to try help women to curl their hair safely.
However, whilst some of these products have been semi-successful, none have solved the specific issue of navigating a curling iron in and around the ears. They have instead mostly been focused on protecting the forehead, scalp or neck.
For ears though, there has recently been a new product made available – ear covers. They are specially made for the purpose and must just be taken from the packet they come in and then placed over each ear. Simple as they seem, they are perfect for the job at hand.
Ear burns and discomfort from heat need no longer be a concern to professional hairstylists, beauty school students, or those of you who style your own hair.
Though, ear covers are relatively new products in the hair care market, they are widely available already. A quick search on Google will being up plenty of hair care and beauty stores that have them in stock now.
