Trying out Laser Hair Removal

Many people have experienced problems with getting rid of unwanted facial or body hair. There are solutions but they can be costly and not ideal for the person undergoing them.

Shaving is a method of hair removal that has been in use since ancient times. People either had to pluck their hair out to get a more permanent solution, or they were forced to shave every day. Shaving is ineffective because it does not take the hair at the follicle level, but only at the skin. Thus you are left with a quick re-growth that seems to be eve more full than it was previously.

Recently, however, there has been an invention that does take the hair out at the level of the follicle. This laser hair removal invention allows for the hair to be taken away without having to undergo the procedure every day.

One of the problems that dark haired people have had with shaving over the years is a “five o’clock shadow” in areas where hair has been removed with shaving. Not with this procedure since the hair is taken below the surface.

After a couple of months the hair does start to reappear, but it does not come back so quick that you need to have it done more than once a quarter at the most, and this only for people with dark hair. Some of the hair will be gone forever, but not all of it.

Also depending on the area that is being worked on the hair may actually come back sooner. If the area has relatively dense hair growth then the laser hair removal may not last more than a few weeks.

A region of particularly dense hair growth may also mean that the person trying to remove it cannot get every single strand. This rarely happens because the people who perform the procedure want your return business and they will strive to do a great job.

When you are searching for the right person to do the procedure ask around. It doesn’t hurt to get someone you know, who has either had the same thing done or knows a reliable person who has, to give you some advice on whom to see and not to see.

One issue with laser hair removal is that the procedure can cause a burn. The laser’s excess energy is absorbed into the skin and it can cause a blister or scarring. The scarring does not stay usually, and the procedure is rarely painful.

One more issue may be the expense of getting it done. This is not really an issue because it is a lot less expensive than many of the out patient procedures done in offices every day. It may not even be any more costly than that spray on tan, if the area you are having hair removed from is relatively small.

Overall, it is a safe procedure that can be done safely in just a few minutes in an office. Depending on how much hair a person needs removed the procedure can last anywhere from just a couple of minutes to an hour.
