- You could also try wavy hair. While your hair is damp, apply a texturizing spray or a mousse. Split it into sections and braid. Remember the larger the braid, the more loose your waves will be. Let your hair air dry (this can take a few hours). Take them out and finger comb your hair. Apply a light hairspray.

I just had my 8th grade recognition last Friday(:
For that I french braided my hair the night before (here is a tuturial on how to do it: it's really easy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF8klzLdoVs ) and then slept in it.
When I woke up, I took out the braid and my hair was wavy and curly. I took my bangs (if you have bangs) and i braided them on the top of my head and then pinned them.
And last, I took a curler (this is optional) and then I curled the first 2 inches of hair on both sides of my head.
