My hair length has been declining for the past 4 years, but never has it been particularly styled in any prominent way.
I've got to the point I want my hair to be a lot shorter than it was 4 years ago.
I'd like my hair to be this sort of style

Thats Johnny Depp for those who don't know :L Now, I'm not trying to copy him, but would like to know :
Question : What Hair Products / Techniques does he use to get his hair to stay this way once it is short?
Is it Pomade, Matt Clay or some other styling product i'm oblivious to?
*I'm not trying to impersonate Mr.Depp, I know the criticism men tend to get for doing so, but his hair at this point seemed a fitting example*

Suggestion:
A control wax, clay, putty, paste will all work for a long ivy league. Try krew comb. The one in the jar. Or any of the wide variety of waxes, pomades, pastes and clays currently being manufactured.
