Keep These 2 Foods out of Your Diet

The 2 foods that are to be avoided may shock you. You may be under the impression, like so many others, that these foods are OK, and not an issue when it comes to dieting. People are amazed when they learn that they should be removed from their diet.

It is common knowledge that trans fats are bad for you, and also high-fructose corn syrup. I won’t go over these ones again ” you probably know only too well. Its not either of these that I have in mind.

Number one to be avoided when you are on a diet, is all wheat products – that means anything that contains wheat. This would include bread of all types, bagels, pasta and cereals (and this even includes all those “whole wheat” cereals).

The reasons why wheat is to be avoided are twofold. First, a high proportion of the population is actually allergic to the gluten contained in wheat and other grains. But more importantly than this, we were never meant to have such a high proportion of wheat in our diet. Our digestive system never did adjust to it.

Wheat has only appeared in the human diet in the last couple of thousand years or so, and has NEVER been such a large part of our diet until the last 80 to 100 years! Previous to that, we had a much healthier diet which consisted mainly of a mixture of of vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds.

When somebody is trying to lose weight, if they will cut wheat out of their diet for 2 to 3 weeks, they will get results. Not only will they lose weight and feel better as a result of having more energy, but in some cases it has resulted in curing headaches and indigestion that had persisted for years.

The second food that I would recommend you avoid comes as a surprise to almost everybody, because I am referring to good old fruit juice. It’s known as a healthy choice and does not seem out of place in a weight loss program.

I am not an anti-carbohydrate campaigner. I believe that most fruits are very healthy ” when they are taken as nature intended. When you separate the juice from the other beneficial parts of the fruit like fiber, that is when you run into problems. You are left with a high-calorie, sugary mixture.

When you only drink the juice of the fruit, your body is missing out on the fiber. This will result in a craving for more carbohydrates. Oranges and apples are two of the best examples of this. The fiber in the fruit will help to satisfy the appetite, and it also slows down the response of the blood sugar, much more so that the juice alone.

At the end of the day, you will only put on weight if you have too much fruit juice. On the other hand, eating whole fruits is an important part of a calorie-controlled diet, and a rich source of nutrients for your body. This is also dependant on your diet consisting of as much unprocessed food as possible.
