They Said Stay Away from Novelty Neckties

As I was reading to keep up with the times I ran across this article stating that men should stay away from novelty neckties. It caught my attention because I sell novelty neckwear at The Necktie Shop. I read on, and found they are basically talking about keeping with a classic type necktie for certain occasions. I guess I’ll agree that not every novelty type of necktie should be worn when on a job interview, or other type of meeting. But, let’s face it, novelty neckties really make a statement and people love them!

In a very similar way that the baseball cap relays a message, so can a necktie. I sell all kinds of novelty ties, lots target vocations, like teachers, policemen, firefighters, doctors, and lots simply tell a story, or provide a message. Patriotic neckties are great for showing your American spirit and love of the USA. I often sell flag neckties, military themed, eagle and even the Statue of Liberty depicted on a novelty necktie.

There are always holidays approaching. From St. Patrick’s Day to Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. All these holidays are perfect opportunities to wear your favorite novelty necktie and show your enthusiasm.

It isn’t uncommon to have a club or group or a dozen or more neckties to wear at meetings or at public appearances. Many Veterans clubs do this, and it really sends a message. Nothing looks better than to see a group marching in the Memorial Day Parade, all clad in neckties depicting the American Flag.

So, I guess I’ll agree that classics have their place. I will agree that not every meeting warrants less than completely serious neckwear. But I can’t overlook the benefit, or pleasure, of wearing a novelty necktie to make a statement. My statement!
