Keeping Cool This Summer

Now that summer is really here, staying cool and relaxed in the heat is becoming harder. The heat that we get in the UK is different to the heat you get abroad. The heat abroad feels much more intense, however, in the UK the heat is more humid.

Obviously almost everyone will want to get out into the sun and have fun while it’s about, so when it comes to going indoors, it can be a nive break. But, staying cool can be hard even when you’re at home. So here are just a couple of tips for keeping cool in your home.

Choose clothing that’s light weight and light coloured. This one is fairly obvious, dress light to make sure your body doesn’t get too hot on the inside. Although some people are scared by this, it’s time to get the shorts out.

Make sure you drink lots of fluids. Keeping hydrated by drinking lots of water and juices will keep you cool, refreshed and keep your level of sugar and minerals up. Alot of minerals are lost through sweat so these need to be replaced by drinking lots of liquids.

Use a dehumidifier. If you don’t yet have one, they are not too expensive and they really pay off.Dehumidifiers are used to remove water within the air to make the air around you less humid.Silica gel, which despite the name, is a solid. A large array of appliances use this gel because it can absorb the water from the air.

Keep yourself relaxed. Keeping yourself relaxed and in-active for the first few days of the hot weather is important because it allows your body to become accustomed to the heat. If you just run out into the hot weather, you will get tired and hot faster than is your relax before doing so.

Those were just a few tips to help you stay cool during the hot days, although you don’t get many in the UK.
