What's the Best Way to Curl My Type of Hair?

I have relatively long hair, but it's pretty much straight and not very thick. It's not thin, but not thick either…note that I don't like complete spiral, ringlet-y curls either. I'm looking for a softer curled look. In the link below I found a model who's hair is curled the way I think mine would look best, and her hair doesn't look too thick either. I know different kinds of hair curls differently, so what do you suggest would be the best way for me to do mine? [and of course something fairly close to how I described]

Thank you

Suggestion:

My suggestion to you is to use product and the right implement. First I would wash and dry your hair the cleaner the hair the more apt it is to holding the curl. You need to use a 1 1/2" to 2" curling iron – since you have long hair and the curls you are looking to obtain are bigger and larger in diameter.

Taking your hair starting at the bottom section – take about a 2" section horizontally across your head from ear to ear. Divide this section vertically into chunks depending on how large you want your curls and how defined you want them – do a test use a small amount then a larger amount. Spray each section with hair spray prior to curling it and brush through the spray to prevent your hair from being stiff. Once your curl the hair don't brush it out or touch it the curls need to cool in order for them to set. Once you have completed the whole head using this method spray with hairspray and break up the curls lightly with either your fingers or lightly using a brush.

You should get exactly what your looking for!
