Need a New Haircut for My Boyfriend?

Ok so here's the story..my boyfriend has had the same haircut for over 5 years and it looks like this http://mens-haircuts.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/bowl-cut.jpg (yeah..my mother says its a mushroom/bowl) and is thick and pin straight. He's looking for a new hairstyle and asked me to help but I only have sisters so I have no idea about guys hair, and his hairstylist is unhelpful but my boyfriend is too loyal to change.
I NEED pictures of some ideas that are good for
-thick hair
-pin straight
-tyra bankish forhead (or it could look big since I'm not used to seeing his forehead exposed..)

Suggestion:

Don't get something that requires him to style it if he's unwilling or doesn't know how to style hair.

The link above shows hair that has been styled, but if his hair dries straight, it'll look fine if he just combs, gives his head a little toss, and forgets about it.

This next cut is for teens to mid twenties, and is very fashionable. Again, unless his hair dries in waves or curls, he doesn't need to do much with it.

Lastly, a simple, short, straightforward 'do that requires no effort on his behalf; however make sure he doesn't comb it meticulously straight or anything. Have him run his hand through it or shake his head a bit to give it a more natural, appealing look.
