How to Not Feel Shy About Showing Short Hair/?

i have short hair and its like about 1-3 inches long and its soooo messy this other girl in my school as the same hair as me and she doesnt wear something to cover it. at 1st she did but now she doesnt

my mom said its ridiciouslous 2 wear a thing like a hijab but i feel shy to not wear anything on my head cuz i shaved my hair so what do i do???
